Rashtrapati Bhawan is about 1 km from Udyog Bhawan Metro Station and 1.4 km from Central Secretariat. From Central Secretariat Gate 4, you can take a bus to Kendriya Terminal Bus Stand, and from there it is a short 200 to 300 metre walk to Gate 38, which is commonly used for Circuit 1 and for accessing nearby entry points for the ceremony. The Change of Guard is a traditional military ceremony where the outgoing guard is replaced by a fresh guard. It takes place in the Forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan and features the Presidents Bodyguard, a ceremonial battalion, a marching band, inspection of troops, coordinated movements, and a short equestrian display. It is a visually impressive event that showcases the discipline and heritage of the Indian Armed Forces.

The ceremony is usually held on Saturdays in the morning at 8 o’clock. Seasonal timing changes may apply. A ticket of ₹50 per visitor is required, and entry is allowed only with prior online booking.

Food, big bags, cameras and phones are not allowed inside. A cloak room is available at the reception to submit restricted items.

Gate availability can change. Gate 2 may be operational, but direct entry from Gate 2 is often restricted. It is advisable to reach Gate 37 or 38 first and then walk to Gate 2 if required.
